Fern fronds, green and structural, are abstractified against deep rusty browns and reds. Nature overtakes the sculptural aspects of this work creating an interplay between the manmade and the indigenous world. The paint strokes are deliberate and considered and unedited, colours run down the surface of the canvas. Lovingly reproduced using archival inks Tanka’s work is canvas stretched taut over a wooden frame providing a daring and strong focal point for a room looking for earthy colours, hints of nature, and a deep sense of purpose.
